Why Its Important to Unplug From Your Business Sometimes?
Do you often have a challenging and sometimes stressful times during your internet marketing business promotion? Are you always thinking about how to increase your leads and enhance productivity? Chances are, you’ll soon reach a tipping point where most of your workday will constitute of nothing but stress. This is because eventually work related strain will take a toll on your health as well as business.
Unplugging
We all have thought about it many times but rarely does any of us take an initiative to put aside work and relax for some days. This is more so in the case of internet marketing where you to stay connected with your leads all the time. You never seem to find enough time to recharge your battery, let alone completely refresh your mind and soul.
The ‘Another’ Beginning
Taking a break from the monotonous work is highly necessary. Not only do you relax your mind but, believe it or not, your efficiency is increased when you get back to doing the same work. For example, there’s a term called ‘Writer’s Block’. This refers to a condition when creativity of a writer hits a stumbling block during the course of writing. Stress and over-concentration is a major cause of this condition. As such, most writers prefer to overcome this obstacle by taking a break from writing. Once they get back to their work, they are more refreshed and enthusiastic then before.
Just like any other task, relaxation can also be called a skill. However, your efforts are paid off right away in this case. Mastering this skill of unplugging from your work can result in more productivity, focus and efficiency. Unplugging means shutting down the noise of outside world and allows us to really feel, reflect and feel. The process is synonymous to rejuvenating your body in a spa. Here, the element that experience rejuvenation is our sub-conscious mind. The process of unplugging opens up new opportunities for our sub-conscious mind which are often locked away or repressed.
What you can Do?
This combination never seems to go out of fashion. Beach is the best place to unwind and relax. The cool ocean breeze, a chair with a shade and, probably, a beer, all create a killer relaxing combo. Learn to respect the present day and think how you can most of it.
Meditate!
Starting your relaxation days with meditation is a good way to unplug. Your mind is freed of unnecessary thoughts. You remove toxic thoughts from your soul and reach a higher level. Through this process, you can listen to your inner self and seek inspiration from within. Personally, I highly recommend this technique.
Nothing can beat the feeling you get when you are strolling with your dog. The love and affection that these pets shower on us are unconditional and pure. No matter how bad your day was, your pet will always greet you with the same love always. If you plan a vacation, take your pet along with you and enjoy unplugging.
To much work related stress can highjack your high-flying career. Through unplugging, you can rescue your career as well as learn to chill. Remember, nothing is urgent, everything is important. And that includes unplugging too.

Once again a great post Katherine! And this is a concept that is vital to lasting success.
You can work, work, work, all day long and make things happen, but eventually it will catch up with you if you don’t take a break. Then you freak out, and your business collapses.
Take breaks throughout the day (see Katherine’s post form yesterday) and take at least one full day a week where you just unplug. You will get recharged and be ready to kick it in to high gear when you get back to work.
Thanks for the great post today Katherine.

Hi Michael,
The reason I did this post today was because I’m unplugging for a week and I’m so ready for it.
We all need some time out to relax, spend time with the family and enjoy life. The best part that you get to clear your thoughts and refresh your mind which will help you get recharged for a better start.
Have a wonderful weekend

you´ve indicated a topic that is mostly suppressed for us although it should be our concern to take days of to reload our batteries!

Hi Katherine,
awesome post. I couldn’t agree more. The internet is open 24/7 – we can’t do that. Europe is sleeping already (not me), the US are in their happy hour and Australia gets up. We need to stop some time because we need to recharge our batteries, absolutely right.
Thanks for sharing.
Take care

What’s that old saying? “all work and no play makes Jill a dull girl” that’s not quite right, but I’m sure you know the saying I’m referring to.
Great post Katherine. Does anyone ever wonder what they did before the internet existed? Lots more leisure probably!

Hi Julieanne,
Thanks for stopping by to leave your comment
I never heard of it but I know what you mean about that old saying, and is so true. We got to take good care of us, first and foremost is our health and well being and once we do all that we are in our best state of mind to do whatever we want.

Hey Katherine
Enjoy your week off.
I like to meditate while in the work cycle and then take a trip to totally relax.
My idea of a relaxing trip, drop in somewhere exotic with no plans.

Great advice Katherine, and absolutely essential for long-term success. Since I work from home, I can take regular breaks and go play with my kids. They have a table piled with Legos which is a great stress relief for me. Once my mind is clear then it is open for new inspiration, which is the best place to work from.
Instead of the beach, I prefer a mountain top. Same benefits, less sand. Watching the sunrise or sunset from a peak is a good way to relax and a great place to meditate.

Hi Wayne,
It’s great that legos help you to relief that stress. I find that playing with my kids and reading some books has also helped me to clear my mind.
I am originally from Chile and I know exactly what you mean about the mountains, in fact you can see the Andes from my parent’s house and is absolutely beautiful.

Hi Katherine, thanks for the great reminder. One of the problems working from home is you never leave the office!

That’s true Rowena!
We never leave the office, but is essential to take some time out to clear our minds and have fresh thoughts

Hey Katherine,
This is such an important part of business. If we don’t relax once in a while we will soon burn out and be good for nothing. I actually had to shift my mentality to make sure I was treating myself and taking time out.
My productivity has sored since doing this. And what you say about writers block is so true too. Now when I get stuck or find it difficult to do, I just step back and say I will do this later when I have taken time out.
Thanks for the reminder, a lot of people should take this post to heart and give themselves a well earned rest.

Hi Karen,
Wow, you are pretty busy!
I love dogs, not so fan of cats but I used to have three when I was growing up. Now we have a Golden and I love him so much, he’s my best pal always next to me when I’m working
