competition Top 7 Reasons Why Should or Should Not Be Afraid of Your Competition!Success is a relative term and means different things to different people. People have different goals, values, backgrounds and priorities. As such, what may mean world to someone may not matter to someone else. However, each success story is woven around similar principles of hard work and triumph over your fears. In order to achieve success, the most important element is conquering your own fears. A noticeable fear most of us have is the fear of competition.

Competition

Completion refers to competing within your niche for a goal that is of equal interest to your fellow participants. Fear of competition means being afraid to participate in a certain event or avoiding confronting your fear of losing. This fear acts as a deterrent to goal accomplishment. The feeling that you may not be able to perform as good as the other participants chokes chances of success even before you step into the field.

I have been in such a situation many times. These moments make you want to go inside and hide. However, after spending some time in the internet marketing business, I have concluded that fear is just like any other innate human trait. It can be controlled and even manipulated towards your gains. So, here are top five reasons why you should not fear your competition:

1. Opportunity to Learn: Competition is good in the sense that you are presented with an opportunity to learn something new. When you compete with others a common platform of knowledge and skills is created. Though rarely seen by most people, this platform also provides a learning atmosphere where we can improve ourselves. Let every competitive event be your learning ground where you strive to improve yourself.

2. Relish the competition: Instead of sweating, say to yourself how fortunate you are to have company of fellow men to compete with. Treat any competitive event as an experience and growth opportunity. Imagine what it would be to do everything on your own as if you are the only person on earth. To me, even the thought of a competition-less world is frightening.

3. Unleash Your Innovation: When people compete with each other, the place becomes a breeding ground for innovation.  New ideas and concepts emerge due the amalgamation of different thoughts. Innovation helps you maintain pace with competitors and changing trends. If you keep yourself aloof from the competition, you are making your thought-process stagnant.

4. People who constantly compete are winners in the real sense. The fact that they are consistently improving and evolving imparts a whole new meaning to their vision. They are not only promoting themselves. Instead, they take the entire competition to a whole new level using their unique ideas.

5. The Pie is Infinite: The pie is constantly growing to support new thoughts and ideas. There is space for everyone. Competition does not mean reduction in opportunities. It implies that with every new entrant, the scope of the niche is growing. Just like bigger pans are required to make bigger pies.

6. Collaborate: If you fear competition, eliminate it. Strategic collaboration or joint ventures provide an alternative to competition. You can develop friendly ties with your competitors and share the profits by working together. Remember, if you can’t beat them, partner with them.

7. Be Different. Stand Out: The only way you can survive competition is to be yourself. When you imitate someone, you lock your own potential. The competition is all about celebrating your own self and being unique. Internet marketing is a crowded place and only a distinctive person with a unique personality can stand the test of the times.

No matter where you are and what you do; you will always have to face competition. You may not always win. The point is to relish the spirit of competition and learn from every defeat. The moment you overcome your fear of competition, you inch yourself one step closer to victory.
